I started to write as soon as I was introduced to a lined blue tablet and a big fat red pencil in elementary school.  I wrote poetry and short stories and would immerse myself in my writing.  Then our children were small, and outnumbered me three to one, money was tight and therapy, while probably needed, was not in our budget.  I would prop myself against the bathroom door from the inside, ignore the small males in my life, and pour out my maternal frustrations in spiral notebooks.  Unless blood seeped under the door, this was my self therapy on many days.
